Yau-Man Chan is da man on Survivor

With Yau-Man Chan emerging as one of the favorites, Survivor could see two consecutive Asian American male champions from the San Francisco Bay Area.

As my colleague Chuck Barney says in today's Contra Costa Times, Chan "has neither the knockout looks or sizzling youth of your typical TV star," attributes that the previous Survivor winner, Yul Kwon, has in abundance. But Chan, 54, an information systems director at UC Berkeley, is nevertheless leading the pack on the show.

We seem to be posting a lot about reality TV on this blog, and I think it's because the genre is giving Asian Americans a chance to be seen on the airwaves, for better or worse.

He got screwed.

He should have won. I was disappointed with Dreamz and to some extent Earl.

Yau didn't cheat, lie, trick, or anything like that and it would have been nice to see someone like him win.

Now that I have gotten over the fact that Yau-Man lost the million dollars I can now say: May Karma come back and bite Dreamz in the ass real good. He has no integrity and that was evident throughout the show.
